1967 Fender Mustang from original owner
Purchased along with the 1966 Supro Model 24 Amplifier in 1967, Eddie had saved up enough money from his paper route to become a Rock and Roll star. Unfortunately for Eddie, but great for me, he put the guitar under his bed after only a couple years of play.
Some really interesting Neck finish checking and some body finish checking simply add to the mojo of this closet classic. I personally hadn't enjoyed playing a Mustang before, but what a tremendous tonal palette from the two single coils. The switches each have 3 positions and one switch per pick up. Normal, off and out of phase and the various Neck/Bridge/Both options sound amazing especially through the Supro or even the '67 Super Reverb. There is not a scratch or pit on any of the chrome and the pickguard looks good as new. The rosewood is luciously rich colored after I polished the frets and oiled the board.
Its all here including the case candy (Strap, Cloth, keys, trem arm):
- Neck Date: Sep 16, 1966
- Neck plate: #175383 (1966)
- Pots: Stackpole 304 6631 (31st week 1966)
- Pat No. Bridge (1967)
- Pat No. headstock decal 1967
